Janelle Prince

Janelle Prince, MSW LCSW

Janelle Prince is a licensed clinical social worker. She completed her Masters of Social Work with a clinical concentration in Mental Health at the University of Southern California. Janelle brings her years of experience working in outpatient and school settings to the position of Clinical Director at Cornerstone Clinic.

Janelle serves individuals aged 4 through later adulthood and their families. Her approach to therapy is to work in partnership with individuals and families to discover strengths, create goals, and help to bring about an opportunity for success. Clients will find Janelle to be engaging, patient, and empathic in sessions.

Janelle is experienced in individual, group, and family therapy utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, brief-solution focused therapy, and EMDR therapy. EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a very unique and highly effective therapy. The goal of EMDR therapy is to reprocess and desensitize old memories so that symptoms no longer feel so intense and can be replaced with positive thoughts and experiences. EMDR therapy can be used to successfully treat PTSD, anxiety, depression, phobias, as well as many other symptoms.

She is also trained in the Gottman Method which is an evidence-based, highly successful form of couples therapy. The Gottman Method is an approach to couples therapy that includes a thorough assessment of the couple’s relationship and integrates research-based interventions based on the Sound Relationship House Theory. The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

She is a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) which means she has received extensive training in integrative medicine to improve mental health.
