Frankie Weinberger, MPAS, PA-C
Frankie Weinberger is a board certified physician assistant with a master’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee in 2000. Since then she has worked mainly in outpatient internal medicine, family practice, allergy/immunology, and in endocrinology at Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin since 2018.
She holds several certifications, including CDCES (certified diabetes care and education specialist), Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, IFMCP (Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner), CBT-I trained clinician (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia), and RYT500 (registered yoga teacher).
With her lifelong interest in holistic, integrative medicine, Frankie attended many conferences in integrative medicine, and then studied through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and completed certification as a diplomate in lifestyle medicine in 2022. In 2023, she completed certification after several years of study with the Institute of Functional Medicine. She continues ongoing studies through the Kalish Institute of Functional Medicine.
The functional medicine approach most closely aligns with her lifelong interest and philosophy in finding the root causes of illness, and treating the causes as safely and naturally as possible. Functional medicine looks upstream for dysfunction of major systems like the GI tract, hormones, immune system, cellular energy production, and the cardiovascular system. Dysfunction is ideally treated upstream at the root causes, rather than just treating downstream by covering up the symptoms. That being said, she fully recognizes the importance and value of having an integrative medicine approach in combining evidence-based natural treatments with conventional medicine when needed to optimize wellness and best support the body’s ability to heal.
Frankie’s areas of special interest include those with some of the greatest impact on health and wellness:
- Gastrointestinal health and nutrition
- Hormonal system balance
- Immune system health
- Lifestyle medicine
- Mental health
- Women’s health
In her free time, Frankie enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening organic edibles and native plants that promote pollinators, volunteering as a Master Gardener, hiking, biking, teaching yoga, writing, playing piano and organ, and singing.
